A book about the green oasis of stars, artists, script writers and other popular people impressed me a lot. This book gave me inside views about the haven of creative people, a place where they hide out for a long- or short time period. A place were they re-invent themselves or have a break. A place where they find enough creativity to finish a productive process.
The book „The Secret Gardeners“ of Victoria Summerly and Hugo Rittson-Thomas is about Stars and their garden. It is inspiring but also appetizing. Moreover it makes you jealous. – For all others who can not afford an expensive manor with parks and green spaces.
For the ones who are lucky enough to afford that spiritual piece of nature-connected country life, I grant you that.
For example the Beachcomber Resort Trou aux Biches, Mauritius
My first impression was embossed by the early arrival and the cab which drove me across the inner of the country to the Beachcomber resort. This ride took me to a magical beach at the island Mauritius, Grande Baie. The site has something special in the early morning hours. There is that peaceful silence and a quiet swoosh of the waves, which you could only listen to, so close to the beach. It depends on the season, but there is that fine fog and the tropical sunrise by time.
This article is more about the flora and fauna of the site. Just to give you an example about what it means to find a place to recover power and creativity in just a small time period. It is about regaining power and energy on a place which not concerns you with any kind of problems.
Bamboo, Banyantree, Banana trees, Palms, Cacti, Frangipani
The first thing you recognize at the arrival are the coconut palms. A tropical resort without palms and a beach is just like a party without music and drinks. But it is not usual that a resort has so many palms and also ones which grow that fast. The Beachcomber Trou aux Biches employs three gardener who handle the parks and their beauty every day.
The greenspace at the Beachcomber Resort Trou aux Biches grows now for more than 20 years. You can smell, feel and see all that. Frangipani and other tropical blossoms deploy tempting fragrances. You can see the hues of green everywhere you go. But you can also see orchids, strelitzias and bougainvilleas.
There is an imposing Byan tree at the center of the estate. From my point of view that tree is the heart and lung of the resort. Relaxing in the trees’ shadow is one of the most chilling experiences you can make as a guest here. Noisy winds, passing clouds and short tropical showers fit perfectly to the ambient of the resort. A pool cools down my warmed up body. You can meditate under the net of aerial roots of the banyantree.
So here it is. That green oasis. The place what I looked for, which cost not much. A life long connection to a location, which gives me joy, but no room for travel and impulsive wishes. It feels very comfortable to know, that I can stay as long as I want to. And I have not to care about anything, because the professional management does everything necessary to proof a long term stay in that paradise.
Yes, it depends on the perspective you look at things. Ownership obligates. I am very happy that I do not own manors or castles with grand parks.
